How do I get rid of ISTBar?

I still have one registry value (according to a spyware identification software that I downloaded free from the internet) from ISTBar called software\microsoft\internet explorer\main\ins\1150, but I can't find it, and I know how to check registries. How do I find it so I can delete it?

go to start button go to control panel then go to add and remove programs then find it there and delete it then restart your computer it should be gone!!!

whats up with this? I have like 10 pop ups every min. and someone said it might be spyware. So i tried a few free antispyware programs but every time i try to run a scam windows restarts itself. HELP!!. I only use this computer for internet and 'Word'.

That has happened to me. Deactivate system restore. Start your computer in safe mode and run scan and delete spyware/viruses. Restart your computer and then reset restore. I would also recommend going to www.microtrend.com and downloading the 90 free trial of PC-cillin Security Suite. Obtain their updates. Set your firewall to high protection. Deactivate system restore. Restart computer in safe mode. Run complete scan. Restart computer. Run scan again. Then reactivate system restore.

If you still have problems after using this tool e-mail me for the only other thing which could do this to you is a Vundo Trojan %26 this requires a tool to remove it.
You sure have somthing in your pc. Run your spyware and if possible your AV in safe mode. Press f8 before windows screen come up. All will also download this

Virus infects your computer and replicates itself, and spread to other computers, and may do some dastardly deeds as well.

Spyware spies on you, things such as SSN (or national ID for non-Yanks), credit card number, address, phone, web surfing habits, and so on.

Both are usually installed without you knowing about them. The latter is usually slipped in through some other programs you download.

I used to use McAfee but found that Norton Anti-virus was far more efficient in virus detection and was also much easier to configure. It is a bit of a memory hog, however. If Norton says you have a virus, then I would trust them and delete it. For increased spyware detection, I recommend Ad-Adware for a reliable free program and SpySweeper for subscription program ($50 per year but it's the best around).

i wouldnt suggest it. I got atrojan just like that one on my laptop, and when i switched, i couldnt catch the virus. The virus let worse ones in and crashed my computer. I suggest u go to bullguard.com and post on the forums for advice. Hope this helps!

Mcafee might not have the files available to remove Trojan.Zlob. If Norton shows that it detects Trojan.Zlob, then you should take Norton warning seriously and let Norton remove it. If you don't want to pay for Norton, you can use free products like Spybot Search and Destroy and Smitfraudfix.

NEED HELP trojan virus(es)!!?

My little brother somehow downloaded a bunch of trojan viruses. I am getting all sorts of windows caution/advice crap coming up telling me to download a spyware/virus protect program. Some thing from windows came up on the lower left hand corner of my screen saying my computers speed has slowed 47% or whatever. Anyway, I am running windows xp and reall need to know of a quick fix for my problems. Anyone know of some free programs to delete my trojans and spyware. I use dial-up (since i live in the country and nothing else is available other than expensive satellite) so I can't download anything too big.
