AVG only removes viruses. Use a anti spyware program to remove spyware. The ones already mentioned are good ones. So is AdAware 2007. You may want to use several spyware programs just to make sure.
No download spybot or use spyware blaster.
The subscrption version of AVG has a Anitspyware componant but not the freeware version.

AVG only removes virus... I would suggest getting a spysweeper of webroot or you could contact pcsafety to help you remove them for you.

well actually i bought spybot at its offical page! it said it wont remove nuttin only in the bought version! it surely scanned but not remove! plus to have total care access and real time protection and etc...ppl on here tol me not to download free software as it is spyware itself! i dont have a prob neways buyin it cuz it was only $29.95..reguarly it was 19.99 but i went and got the premium which was an additional 9.99 so i went with it.!

What can I do?

Lately it seems like whenever I'm on the computer and I click on a link, it doesnt go directly to that link. I get redirected and for I have to sit there and view annoying ads. It displays "Redirecting in 10seconds" and then when the ad is gone is says "to skip this offer click here". I have yahoo toolbar with antispy and nothing shows up. Please help. If you think I need another spyware remover, please suggest a free one like yahoo's. Thanks.

Have you tried Control Panel then Add/Remove programs?

If it doesnt work then look down

probably go into C:\Program files and look for either Active spyware or whichever company made it. Then, right click and click properties. deselect the read only if it isn't deselected, and then make sure all files and subfolders are made non-read only, so you can delete them, then delete it.

If it ISNT INSTALLED THROUGH A SETUP FILE (like an exe with a little zip or computer icon) THEN YOU CANT (if it's one of those fake ones like those popup ones on IE)

So, first of all, my laptop (an Inspiron 6400) has been acting up for a while. Even though it has no viruses, no spyware, and 50 gigs of free space, it has been horrifically slow, almost seeming like a 500 megahertz computer at times. I've tried everything, it just seems like it is malfunctioning. I purchased a warranty with Dell that said it would replace my laptop if it got broken, but the conditions seeemed pretty strict, so I didn't consider replacing it until today's unrelated incident. When cleaning the screen with some laptop screen cleaner, some managed to get under the screen, making one small puddle at the bottom very bright, and the rest dark. It was accidental by all means, but do you think that Dell would still replace my laptop, or would they say it was my fault?

It depends on which warrantee you have. There are two different products. One is just the regular hardware warrantee. The other is "Accidental Damage" protection. If you have the accidental damage protection they will probably replace and/or fix it.

Why don't you just call them and ask them? If you're covered they'll help you.
