The best one I know of that's free, is the one I've had for 3 years, with no trouble. It's SpyBot Search %26 Destroy 1.4 Anti Spyware program. When you get it downloaded, get all the latest up-dates, so your system recognizes any potential threats. I have mine set to up date at 3am by itself, that way, I don't forget, because these up-dates are vital. This is a very good program. After a scan, it will name the problems, if any, then you click on " fix the problem ", then you click on " immunize", so your computer is immunized against that item of spyware, should it return.
