Have I been hacked, or could there be normal explanation for this?

I opened up network connections (XP) and noticed a new connection.

It was called something like a "PPPos" connehction?

ANyway I deleted so I unfortunately cant get any more info, but is that some sort of hack or spyware or something?

I have installed a few free photo editers lately, so I'm thinking it probably came from that if it is spyware?

Anyone?

That is a PPP connection over serial. Added anything like a router or something to your COM ports lately?

Did you do a search for wireless network connections? Do you live close to anyone with wireless? Do you connect to the internet via wireless? See I could go on forever because you didn't give very much information on the issue. However if you are connected via wireless lan then maybe your computer just was giving you a list of the local wireless connections in yoru area which would show you anything that your computer could see as a wireless connection. If it was a new connection within "My Network Places" it could have been made by an install.
